Year 2023

The year 2023 has proven to be a fruitful and progressive period for our company. We began the year as a newly joined partner of ERPNext, accompanied by newly hired staff, namely Ibrahim (developer), Joel, and Arnold (Implementer and Training Staff). These individuals were also new to the Frappe Framework and ERPNext. Although we faced initial challenges, we successfully completed a project involving the implementation of ERPNext.

The company's focus shifted towards preparing the team for more implementation and development projects. In May 2023, the team accomplished the development and testing of the Bureau de Change System on the Frappe Framework, named VSD Forex Bureau System. This system, which partially developer by the company's Director, Vimal Rathod, aimed to replace the legacy Bureau de Change system developed by the company since 2006, incorporating new features and enhanced security.

In July 2023, we successfully replaced the legacy system at one of the largest Bureau de Change customers with 27 branches. Training commenced in June 2023, and the system went live simultaneously across all 27 branches with full accounts and inventory. This marked a significant achievement for the company, boosting the morale and confidence of our staff.

Following this accomplishment, the company proceeded to upgrade all existing Bureau de Change customers from the legacy system to the new Frappe-based system. New clients were now offered the Frappe-based system, leading to the decision to phase out the Legacy System. Joel developed a mobile application compatible with Android and iOS for Bureau de Change customers. The app displays live currency rates across all branches of the bureau.

Two more Bureaus opted to transition to the new system on January 1, 2024. Their training began in November, and we successfully launched them on January 1, 2024, allowing them to close their financials on the legacy system and start the new financial year with the Frappe-based system.

Vimal and Ibrahim attended the Frappeverse 2023 conference organized by Frappe and ERPNext Team in Mumbai in September 2023. This global event provided valuable insights into how the world is evolving and how others utilize the Frappe Framework and ERPNext in various domains.

The company took steps to ensure the certification of all staff as Frappe Developers and Implementation Staff. Arnold became the first staff member certified as an ERPNext Implementer, followed by Ibrahim as a Frappe Developer. This effort culminated in the company receiving certification as a CERTIFIED PARTNER on September 30, 2023. Joel is currently awaiting his final assessment at the end of the year to be certified as an ERPNext Implementer.

The company underwent a Partner Audit from Frappe, during which numerous shortfalls were identified. The Frappe team provided guidelines to improve these shortcomings in various aspects of operations, such as marketing, project planning, implementation, and after-sales support. The company is committed to implementing these suggestions to enhance its operations.
